March 1st, 2025, was a moment I’ll never forget. As a Bahamian author and creative, it meant the world to see my production company, H.H. Fowler Productions, premiere its very first feature film, The Devil Made Me Do It, at the iconic Atlantis Theatre. The energy in the room was electric—people showed up in full force to be part of what truly felt like the beginning of a new chapter in Bahamian storytelling.
As the writer, executive producer, and author of the original novel, it was both humbling and surreal to watch this story come alive on screen. Directed and filmed by the incredibly talented Dario ‘Erics’ Poitier, and brought to life by an all-Bahamian cast, the film was a bold celebration of our homegrown talent. That night affirmed something I’ve always believed deep in my heart: world-class stories can absolutely rise from island soil.
